Security

Security is our #1 concern, IISLogs a very powerful utility component and if allowed this could monitor entire directory structures and destroy systems rendering them un-usable.   The primary design of IISLogs to help manage (compress or delete) log files.  These constraints are put into place by design to ONLY handle log files and leave all other file extensions alone.  Unlike many other components, IISLogs isn’t required to run as SYSTEM or ADMINISTRATOR credentials, through research most companies configure IIS to store log files in a specific spot.   IISLogs only needs to be configured to handle those directories and leave all other critical directories alone.  The initial setup requires a little bit more configuration but is way more secure than having a 3rd party component running as SYSTEM level permissions.
